Velosity Brooklyn Park is searching for a Quality Inspector Lead to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. The Quality Inspector Lead is responsible for ensuring the overall execution quality plans, sampling plans, and control plans for incoming, in process, and final inspection requirements. This position is responsible for defining work priorities within the lab, as well as leading training for other inspectors. When required, the position will initiate material hold, nonconformance investigation, and execute approved material dispositions.

THIS PAY RANGE REFLECTS THE BASE HOURLY RATE OR ANNUAL SALARY FOR POSITIONS WITHIN THIS JOB GRADE, BASED ON OUR MARKET-BASED PAY STRUCTURES. ACTUAL COMPENSATION WILL DEPEND ON FACTORS SUCH AS SKILLS, RELEVANT EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, INTERNAL EQUITY, BUSINESS NEEDS, AND LOCAL MARKET CONDITIONS. WHILE THE FULL RANGE IS SHARED FOR TRANSPARENCY, OFFERS ARE RARELY MADE AT THE MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM OF THE RANGE.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED-General Studies
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • Certificate-Machine Trades or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of Quality experience, preferably in a Medical Device or Component manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic Quality Systems (nonconformance, equipment calibration)
  • Knowledge and understanding of inspection standards
  • Ability to read, write in English, comprehend and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Good manual dexterity and visual ability with high attention to detail

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Work with Planning and Operations to define critical inspection priorities. Follow dispatch reports or other inspection priority lists to ensure inspections meet delivery expectations.
  • Primarily responsible for the training of other inspectors. Oversee all training provided in the quality inspection areas/labs.
  • Perform all aspects of the Quality Inspector role when required (incoming receiving, in-process inspection, lot acceptance). Initiate QS nonconformance records and ensure product is properly quarantined within the production management/ERP system.
  • Other duties as assigned.
