Description
Description Tests and inspects parts at various stages of the production process to evaluate conformity to customer specifications. Job Functions: Reviews instructions, prints and process specifications to determine product requirements. Follows the quality policy procedures relating to the inspection lab in support of the quality policy. Inspects parts from the manufacturing process for a variety of quality characteristics, such as dimensions, finish and functionality to ensure conformance to customer specifications. Uses various types of inspection tools, equipment and gauges to measure required characteristics. Records inspection results and notes if specifications are being met. Informs Production personnel of inspection results and notifies Supervisor if parts are non-conforming. Communicates with co-workers and Supervisor to receive instructions, coordinate activities, eliminate problems and facilitate workflow. Follows all safety procedures and wears safety equipment or apparel as required. Performs all job functions to meet acceptable quality and performance standards. Ensure on a daily basis that work area is clean and orderly including workstation. Requirements Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of inspection or quality related experience in metal fabrication and/or powder coat painting Working knowledge of ISO/QMS systems Ability to read prints with working knowledge of GD&T Strong skills with shop mathematics Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Proficiency with inspecting equipment and precision measuring instruments including CMM using PC-DMIS Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) Physical Requirements: Exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk about the facility to access, and move materials Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel Ability to read documents, prints, computer screens, and quality instruments Working Conditions: Typical metal manufacturing environment with exposure to powder coat paint facility. Primarily active factory work that involves walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
