PALFINGER is searching for a Quality Inspector. This position is located in Trenton, NJ. This position reports to the Quality Manager.The Quality Inspector will be responsible for supporting Operations Quality at the Trenton Facility. Operations include fabrication of weldments, assembly of hydraulic and electrical sub-systems, heavy duty truck installation and painting of components and final products. The ideal candidate must have the ability to use standard inspection equipment, perform inspections on components and finished units, facilitate non-conformance reporting and investigation, read and understand engineering drawings and specifications, and work with the internal and external resources to continue the growth of our quality culture.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, mechanical or other related industry required.
  • Hands-on Mechanical experience, automotive or transportation related preferred, does not need to be professional experience.
  • Must be able to properly use, read and measure with various measuring devices to include, but not limited to the following: Precision Hand Tools including Calipers, Micrometers, Gauges and Squares
  • Possesses excellent communication skills to be able to read, write and communicate, in detail, problems to coworkers, managers and suppliers as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection on all products during the manufacturing processes and final inspection prior to product delivery including Final Vehicle inspection.
  • Perform incoming inspection on raw and finished good material.
  • Employ the latest inspection equipment, i.e., hand measurement tools, fixture gauges and other inspection equipment as required.
  • Leads in root cause analysis and development of corrective / preventive actions.
  • Leads investigations of product defects and recommendations of modifications in product, process and /or quality standards as warranted.
