Description

Summary: The Quality Assurance Inspector supports the Quality Manager by maintaining and enhancing the Quality Management System. This role is primarily responsible for executing quality assurance procedures on the production floor and ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer specifications, and industry regulations. The Inspector also supports continuous improvement by providing insights to optimize both quality and production efficiency.

EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma or GED preferred. Associate degree or technical certification is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in quality auditing or inspection, preferably in the manufacturing of automation tools or industrial equipment.
  • Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, or other relevant quality certifications preferred. Willingness to participate in continuing education courses and capability to become certified within 18 months.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards, audit processes, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and thorough knowledge of quality assurance practices.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control tools and inspection methods (e.g., gauges, calipers, micrometers).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective documentation and reporting.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and resolve quality issues proactively.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and Excel.
    Work Environment: This position operates in a plant and manufacturing environment.
    Work type & Expected hours of work: Regularly works on-site at local Paslin locations. This position is for regular, full-time work and may require coming in early, working late, or working on weekends to meet the needs of the business.
    Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and twist. May be required to lift/push/pull up to 25lbs.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct various quality audits throughout the department, including receiving inspections of incoming components, in-process inspections during production, and final inspections of completed tools prior to customer delivery. Details of each of these assignments are below.
  • Support document control by ensuring proper change management, including revisions, dates, and required approvals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams with internal and external quality audits as required, providing detailed feedback and corrective action plans to address quality issues.
  • Record, compile, and monitor non-conformances. Communicate quality issues and non-conformities to the quality and manufacturing teams to ensure prompt corrective action.
  • Adhere to company policies and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve overall production efficiency.
  • Assist in the calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment, to ensure accuracy during quality audits.
  • All other duties as assigned.
