SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

This position conducts a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure the quality of parts and products through thorough assessment and analyses using specific procedural standards for integrity, or to determine the cause of unit failure. Also support to conduct the production and repair process with fixtures, tools, and software.

  • Read production schedule, work orders, SOP, conduct the production, test, and repair process, including program chips, assemble products, test products/ parts, welding products, and repair products.
  • Connect parts or units to be tested to test equipment such as signal generator, frequency meter, or spectrum analyzer.
  • Read test schedule, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
  • Utilize standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges, and testing. Reads dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance. Verifies dimensions of pins, shafts, and other mechanical parts.
  • Test the functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity.
  • Repair and set up devise test equipment to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units.
  • Perform inspections of parts and company products, compare results with specifications, and record test data or plots test results on graphs to determine conformance with specifications.
  • Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
  • Calibrate test instruments according to specifications.
  • Process associated documentation, including process tags, rework tags, and nonconforming material documents.
  • Work under the direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and techniques.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
