We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join our Nuclear & Infrastructure Division, based at our site in Lostock.
Our Nuclear & Infrastructure division has extensive experience in the specialist, highly regulated nuclear, transport (road and rail), process industries and power and energy sectors. Providing award winning design teams, utilising state-of-the-art design software and Tekla detailing facilities to offer customers value engineering. This gives a mix of proven success along with modern, innovative design and fabrication ideas to be able to provide a quality, specialised service to a growing market. They continue to set the bar high in their highly regulated market!
Vacancy Details
In the Quality Inspector position you will be responsible for ensuring all welds and fabrications go out as per the client requirements and standards.

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • CSWIP 3.1 - 100% visual inspection of all welds.
  • Magnetic and particle testing.
  • Ultrasonic testing
  • Carry out detailed visual weld inspections.
  • Carry out detailed MPI inspections.
  • Carrying out Welder Audit.
  • Calibration of test equipment.
  • Assess weld quality & what rework may be required.
  • Escalation of quality issues outside of tolerances
  • Inspection of every weld to ensure it is produced to standard in working procedures, before during and after welding.
  • Assess competency of welders (9606) every two years and 6 monthly reviews.
  • Must be able to create NDT Reports.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

It is essential that you hold a CSWIP 3.1 Visual Inspection and PCN Level 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection.
PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Inspection in Plate, NDT Instruction Writing, Butt Welds in Plate, Butt Welds in Pipe, T Joint Welds, Nozzle Welds is desirable.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a structural steel welder or fabricator. You will also have a good standard of education, with good English and IT skills.
