Sulzer’s Leeds Service Centre is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Inspector to join our team.
As part of Sulzer, a global leader in fluid engineering, the Leeds Service Centre specialises in the repair, overhaul, and upgrade of critical rotating equipment—including pumps, steam turbines, compressors, and other high-spec components. The site plays a key role in supporting customers across a wide range of industries including power generation, water, oil & gas, and general industry. With state-of-the-art equipment and a strong focus on technical excellence, our Leeds facility delivers high-quality, reliable service that keeps vital infrastructure running.
As an Inspector, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of all work completed on-site. Your attention to detail will help maintain the high standards our customers rely on.

Responsibilities

YOUR MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform dimensional inspection of components throughout various repair stages to ensure adherence to drawing tolerances
  • Conduct detailed visual inspections of parts to identify any signs of damage or wear
  • Provide input on rectification instructions for any rework required
  • Record and report non-conformance details clearly and accurately
  • Carry out non-destructive testing methods (NDT), where qualified
  • Sign off inspection activities once acceptable and reject when criteria are not met

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • A formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in inspecting pumps, steam turbines, or other rotating equipment
  • Strong knowledge of measurement tools such as Verniers, Gauges, and Micrometres
  • NDT experience and qualifications (preferred)
  • A meticulous, methodical approach and strong attention to detail
