Role Description: The Eberhard Manufacturing team is seeking a Quality Inspector for our facility in Strongsville, OH. This is a full-time position, training on 1st shift. Must have the flexibility of going to a split shift as needed. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring products meet the company standards and required regulations before they move on to the next stage of production or reach the customer. The ideal candidate would be responsible for inspection, testing, documentation, reporting, and upholding ISO 9001 compliance standards. Core Responsibilities: Evaluate and document product quality and materials usability by using measurement devices standard to Machining and Fabrication Industry Feedback findings as to areas of concern to the operator, lead person and supervisor. Know location of Departmental Work Instructions and Databases Work with Production supervisors, Engineering, Purchasing and QA Department to supply information required to properly document product acceptability and nonconformance’s Complete NPA’s and First Articles Perform Gage Calibration Assist with performing Root Cause Analysis/ Troubleshooting on Quality related issues All inspectors are expected to be cross-trained in Receiving inspection, Main inspection, Assembly inspection, and Dock Audits and can be assigned to work in any area as necessary Blueprint Reading Capable of interpreting basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) Support as required to meet department goals, as assigned Must be able to accurately Set Up and Read Standard Measuring Devices, at an expert level, including but not limited to: 2D Optical Comparator, Micrometers, Calipers, Hole Gages, Optical Comparator, Profilometer, Hardness and Plating Thickness Gages, Gage Pins, Jo Blocks and Radius Gages, Scales, Protractor, Pull Tester and Blueprint Reading Requirements: Basic Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook Excel for data collection and tabulation Word for report generation Outlook for email correspondence Basic Math: Adding/Subtraction and Decimal to Inch Conversion Must be able to convert from metric to standard inch and vice versa Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate with all members of our organization effectively Experience with interpreting basic geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) a plus Gage design based off GD&T requirements is a strong plus Significant experience with blueprint reading/ understanding Prior experience as a production inspection member a plus Experience in using/ programming coordinate measurement machinery (CMM) a plus Root cause analysis using problem-solving techniques such as 5Y and 8D a plus Measurement System Analysis (MSA) experience a plus Calibration experience a plus Ability to read and follow Basic Work Instruction Documentation Ability to write brief, Coherent and Legible Statements necessary to Complete Quality Reports Experience with Coordinate Measurement Machinery (CMM’s) with an ability to program if necessary a plus High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Associates Degree Employment with Eberhard Manufacturing is “at-will”, meaning that either the employee or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, in accordance with Ohio law.
