Description Responsible for metrology and metallurgical measurements of materials and components during various stage of development and manufacturing. Requirements Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Define and document procedures for laboratory inspection activity (manual measurements, Optical and CMM operation, programming, test methods, calibration, etc.) and ensure compliance to internal and external measurement standards and other related specific requirements. Perform required control plan inspections, inspection equipment programming, test methods, or calibration according to the defined procedures. Support the requirements for the development, maintenance, and improvement of measurement systems and procedures to ensure valid results and standardization. Perform Product and Process Audits to ensure compliance to product specification at all stages, including incoming, manufacture and outgoing product inspections. Support internal and external reports for product/process validation, material approval, and customer specific issues or requests. Retain appropriate documented information and test samples as evidence of the results as defined. Ensure identification, maintenance, and calibration/verification of all gauges, measuring, and test equipment and conduct capability study (GR&R) of measurement systems where required. Maintain all calibration records. Identify and support the resolution of problems related to the material and/or manufacturing process. Support laboratory continuous improvement activities in physical and metallurgical measurements of materials, components, and assemblies. Experience with metallurgical sample preparation and inspection i.e., hardness and microstructure Required Skills/Abilities: Relevant laboratory experience Interpretation of drawings and specifications Experience with laboratory equipment, programming, processes, and various inspection techniques Experience with SPC techniques Knowledge of production processes, materials, and parts Experience working in ISO/TS 16949 and ISO/IEC 17025 environment NDT experience is beneficial Education and Experience: High School Diploma At least five years of related experience in manufacturing quality lab and production required. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
