OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Quality and Technical team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the business by performing analytical and sensory evaluations to ensure raw materials, in process and finished productions meet specifications.

REQUIREMENTS

• Although not essential,previous laboratory experience ideally in a food manufacturing environment would be an advantage, with a solid understanding of scientific principles.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data accurately.
• Proficiency in using mathematical concepts for calculations related to experiments.
• Experience with quality control procedures and methodologies is an advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are crucial for success in this role.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, and Level 2 Food Safety in Manufacturing.
• A Food Science and Laboratory qualification would be beneficial.

• To operate safely and to encourage a culture of Health and Safety, reporting near misses and potential hazards.
• To operate within good manufacturing practice (GMP) Standards.
• Carry out assessments of raw materials, in process and finished products following instructions, evaluating for suitability, quality and performance.
• Carry out analyses of samples using various laboratory techniques and equipment.
• Stock control of submitted samples ensuring correct storage, handling and disposal where necessary.
• Carry out non routine testing of materials to determine quality and suitability for use.
• Submit samples on LIMS System, use if system to retrieve relevant test paperwork and use of ERP system.
• Carry out viability checks loose/suspect yeasts and log information.
• Completion of laboratory paperwork, ensuring full and accurate completion.
