Description

The Quality Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control within our can decorating production facility. This includes managing the inspection process, implementing quality standards, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that print/shrink processes meet both customer and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a print or can decorating environment and will play a pivotal role in maintaining product quality and process consistency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of print processes, color management, and printing technologies used in can decorating.
  • Proven experience with inspection and testing procedures
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to packaging and printing.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with ink chemistry and its impact on print quality.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and ISO standards.
    Monday–Friday, day schedule. The specific hours are flexible and will be discussed directly with the candidate during the interview process.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the quality control team to ensure the highest standards of quality in printed cans and packaging.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality standards for can decoration, including color consistency, print registration, and surface integrity.
  • Conduct regular inspections of finished products and in-process materials to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to print quality, including color matching, alignment, and print defects.
  • Collaborate with the production and maintenance teams to address and resolve quality-related challenges.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on product quality, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Train and mentor employees in quality standards, processes, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies regarding quality assurance.
  • Manage and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and optimize processes.
