QUALITY LEAD – NUCLEAR MANUFACTURING

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Lead to oversee the quality assurance function for a high-precision nuclear component manufacturing division. The role involves ensuring compliance with CSA Z299, ISO 9001, and customer-specific nuclear quality standards, leading audits, managing NCRs and CAPAs, and mentoring the QA/QC team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a quality leadership role within nuclear or high-regulated manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of CSA Z299, ISO 9001, and nuclear QA standards
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring quality/inspection teams
  • Proficient in technical drawing interpretation, GD&T, and inspection documentation
  • Experience with non-conformance management and customer audits
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada and currently residing in Canada

Responsibilities
  • Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) for nuclear projects
  • Ensure compliance with CSA Z299, ISO 9001, and customer specifications
  • Conduct internal audits, prepare for external audits, and manage audit responses
  • Oversee inspection activities and documentation including first article, in-process, and final reports
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Interface with clients and regulatory bodies on quality issues and project compliance
  • Train and support quality inspectors and ensure QA processes are followed
  • Maintain quality metrics and reporting for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Review and approve quality records, certifications, and technical documents
  • Support engineering and production teams in maintaining process controls and traceability
