POSITION PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Lead Technical Engineer is primarily responsible for developing, improving, and documenting part specific quality controls and procedures. Full-Time Equipment you will work with, (preferably program): CMM (Ziess / Calipso Software) RONDCOM NEX Roundness Checker MicroVu Keyance Oasis Optical Comparator ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure new and existing customer requirements are understood, controlled, and achieved. Technical expert for quality lab equipment Compile and submit customer required part data or documents. Develop, improve, and document part specific quality controls and procedures. Train or support others on part specific quality controls and procedures. Review and coordinate closure of customer complaints and/or requests for product return. RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management deems necessary. Employees are and will be held accountable for all duties of the job. Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and methods to determine appropriate quality controls and procedures. Develop dimensional gauging setups and assist in establishing part inspection procedures. Represent the Quality department in new part approval process. Approve new parts, and record specific data per customer requirements. Complete all final inspections, tests and check requirements and record all data required on the final inspection record form. Oversee the calibration of precision measuring instruments and gauges. Assist DMR group in determining reasons for and disposition of non-conformances. Confer with and refers major or critical inspection questions to QA Manager for disposition. Must be quality conscious and continuously look for quality improvements. Function as a Quality Technician when needed. Potentially supervise Quality Inspection staff. REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
