POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Management System (QMS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s quality management system in compliance with quality management standards, primarily standards for the aerospace/defense and automotive industry.
This role ensures the QMS effectively supports company objectives while meeting regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and industry standards. The QMS Manager serves as the primary steward of quality documentation, processes, and procedures across the organization, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management system administration
  • At least 3 years of experience with quality management implementation and maintenance
  • Experience in aerospace/defense or automotive preferred
  • ASQ certification (CQA, CQM, or ASQE) highly desired

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Knowledge of Quality Managemetn requirements, such as AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015, or IATF 16949 requirements
  • Understanding of industry requirements (aerospace, NADCAP and military specifications preferred)
  • Experience with electronic quality management software systems
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (PDCA, 8D, root cause analysis)
  • Understanding of risk management principles and applications
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques
  • Internal auditor qualification (aerospace, defense, medical, or automotive)

  • Excellent documentation and technical writing abilities
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Change management capabilities and ability to drive organizational adoption

  • Training and facilitation skills
