POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality operations in a truly varied, highly technical and dynamic plastic injection molding environment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all products meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements, managing the quality team, and driving continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor. The ideal candidate will be a Quality Assurance professional leader focused on preventing defects and creating practical processes and procedures to ensure quality standards are met. This leader will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and most importantly be directly involved in problem-solving and inspections.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality assurance role in a plastics injection molding environment
  • Strong working knowledge of quality tools such as PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and root cause analysis
  • Proficient with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMMs, vision systems, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work cross-functionally
  • Solid understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and be familiar with IATF 16949 requirements
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Experience with automation or over-molding processes is a plus
Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily quality operations. This includes in-process inspections, final product audits, and first article approvals.
  • Work together with production, engineering, and tool room teams to resolve quality issues in real time
  • Oversee all incoming material inspection and supplier quality performance
  • Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards (as applicable)
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to conduct root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for internal and external non-conformances
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures, inspection instructions, and control plans
  • Support new product launches and validations including PPAP submissions, dimensional layouts, and process capability studies – Taking ownership of key quality requirements throughout the process
  • Lead internal and external quality audits
  • Coach, train, and develop quality inspectors and technicians
  • Track, analyze, and report key quality metrics (scrap, rework, customer complaints, etc.)
  • Partner with customers on quality concerns, returns, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in Gemba floor meetings and support Operations for quality training where needed
  • Collect and track COPQ metrics and work with all departments to reach goals
  • Introduce value added SPC for key products
  • Facilitate and support the plant-wide APQP requirements
