Job Details Job Location: Fox Valley - Green Bay, WI 54304 Position Type: F/T Regular Job Shift: Day THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN The Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for assigned programs & product lines, and directly manages other quality team members. The manager plans and directs activities related to the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials and products. Assignment of Functions or Duties: Quality Management System Lead by example, demonstrate core values daily Promote continuous improvement Promote Risk-based thinking Interpret and implement ISO 9001 standards Coordinate and support surveillance and recertification audits conducted by external providers Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions Facilitate Management Review meetings Maintain the quality metrics dashboard spreadsheet monthly Maintain the ISO QMS board postings Manage internal audit process Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions Facilitate CAPA and OFI review meetings Quality records retention and control Maintain calibration program for measuring equipment and schedule annual calibration Monitor risk management activities (ISO 9001:2015) Promote a quality culture Internal Quality Determine personnel resource needs for the inspection function Manage the quality function budget Select quality equipment and inspection tools, and software, to support the inspection team Aim to make production employees responsible for managing their own quality standards, i.e. QATS and FVMT Guidelines and Workmanship Standards Identify quality training needs and organize training to meet quality standards Issue quality alerts MRB Input Support continuous improvement activities Supplier Quality Support Purchasing in supplier selections Work with suppliers to ensure quality requirements are met Visit suppliers to conduct supplier quality audits Communicate when suppliers are not meeting quality standards, and actions to be taken Customer Quality Support customers’ supplier audits Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues, and root cause customer returns Develop and implement customer corrective actions Send out customer questionnaires every 18 months Maintain customers’ quality notes matrices Drive quality into project activities to ensure product meets customers’ requirements Training and Development VT Level II certification and maintenance for the inspection team Romer CMM training for the inspection team Recommends development training for the quality team Improve self through training and development Secondary Responsibilities: Manage and administer the Welder Workmanship Training program Assist CWI in the development of weld procedures and welder qualifications Maintain schedules for welder continuity quarterly and annual vison exams Maintain schedule for annual weld machine calibrations Manage welding qualification-related costs Assist with review of specifications and customers’ deliverables requirements Develop forms, checklists, process flow diagrams, etc., as needed to improve performance designated areas Perform CWI as needed Answer technical questions from the inspection team Serve as a resource for other departments Work with manufacturing department leaders to improve quality and reduce rework Serve as member of management safety team Qualifications Minimum Requirements of Skills, Qualifications, and Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or similar/related program required In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a combination of an Associate degree with proven work experience in the metal fabrication industry with hands on operation and supervision responsibilities in multiple fabrication processes may be substituted; specifically in quality, welding, machining, and finishing operations Experience: Production or engineering experience in a custom sheet metal fabrication business is desired Five plus years’ experience in managing or supervising quality assurance and quality control in a manufacturing setting Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and machining specifications preferred Knowledge of metals and raw materials along with the understanding of production processes, and costs of manufacturing is a plus Good analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of industry principles such as lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies is preferred Specialized Experience: Knowledge and application of ISO 9001:2015 Standard Proficiency in Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) preferred Accurate manufacturing blueprint reading experience required Working knowledge of American Welding Society and Military welding procedures and specifications preferred Excellent communication skills at all levels within an organization
