Description:
SKILLS
- College graduate with technical degree in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering preferred. Equivalent experience in technical discipline for at least 8 years may be considered equivalent.
- 4 year minimum experience in Engineering discipline in high volume manufacturer of electronics, automotive, aerospace, or medical device equipment manufacturer required.
- 2 year minimum experience in product and tooling development preferred manufacturing environment is strongly desired.
- Must have a sound knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
- Works on assignments and resolves problems that may be complex in nature by analysing/interpreting the situation/data and reviewing relevant factors to determine an appropriate solution, applying some judgment accordingly

Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Corporate Quality Director, ensure adherence to ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 plus procedures for APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, PFMEA requirements. Prepare and sign off on all PPAP/FAIR submissions for the specific customer group Ensure corrective/preventive action effort specific customer group are met and maintained.
- Administer product APQP activity (for specific customer group) during development and manufacturing to ensure timely completion of the following:
a) Control Plans
b) P.F.M.E.A
c) Tool and equipment validation meeting the specified requirements
d) Geometric dimensioning and tolerencing as related to product performance
e) Selection of SPC/SQC points as related to specific customer and/or internal requirements
f) Coordinator all BOM activities to ensure correct estimates are supplied to corporate and supply chain on time
g) Coordinate new “Bill of Materials” Engineering changes - Administer timely resolution of customer complaints, including warranty issues.
- Act as the Customer Quality contact for Customer.
- Accountable for APQP and supply chain compliance, especially deliverables as per program requirements.
- Accountable for FAIR requirements to the specific customer ensuring specified requirements are met and maintained for subsequent configuration.
- Accountable for maintenance, accuracy and completeness of customer concerns and complaint records.
- Accountable for ensuring updates and maintenance of generic PFMEA and control plans.
- Accountable for analyzing statistical data, especially for continuous improvement and/or corrective action initiatives.
- Accountable for validate review with on all metrics, especially during APQP and Eng. changes.
- Extensive contact with customer is required at technical, quality and manufacturing disciplines. In addition a close working relationship with all levels of the plant organization is required.
- Requires contact with other plants .
- Supplier contact on technical issues, F.A.I.R/PPAP, run at rate and audits is required.
- Incumbent works to broad departmental objectives contained in non-financial objectives, the Quality Manual, Procedures Level II and III, operating plan (BOS) and is required to exhibit independent judgment and creativity. Quality Manager is expected to require minimal guidance.
- Works closely with all personnel, both as a supplier and as a customer; strong organizational and leadership abilities are required.
- Must be able to make presentations and convince groups of professional people (including internal and external customers).
- Provides coaching and training as required to hourly and staff personnel.
- Capable of resolving conflicts between groups and individuals.
- Able to understand timelines and prevent program status.
- Independently designs and executes PFMEA required by individual products.
- Evaluate APQP evidence for inclusion into APQP processes.
- Designs and executes control plans.
- Review supplier timelines, quotes, APQP requirements, etc.
- Evaluates tooling, check fixture designs, customer sampling plans and paperwork.
- Evaluates supplier FAIR and run at rates to meet internal and customer demands ensuring ISO and Customer specific requirements are maintained.
- Technical knowledge of electronics components and production including industry technical standards (ISO, IPC) and quality assurance guidelines
- Ability to read/understand BOMs and schematics, identifying a variety of electronic components
- Design and implant original “Bill of Materials” and assist with all types of specification changes.
- Will require the use of statistical application and problem solving techniques to solve, engineering, quality productivity, reliability, maintain ability, durability, application, cost and/or safety issues.
- Must actively participate in proposing original or creative solutions to non-routine engineering, quality, productivity, application, employee development, and cost and safety problems.
- Manage front end Process Engineering and Quality for assigned new programs, completing customer sampling and control plan requirements, ensuring all product shipped using APQP phases meet all customer requirements, any deviations to requirements are documented and approved by the customer and appropriate parties in the most cost-effective manner.
- Travel as required to perform customer /supplier and/or internal requirements of the job function.
- Required to have awareness of and comply with environmental, health and safety policies as related to the job function and business conduct guidelines/requirements.
