Position: Quality Manager – OEM Fabrication & Assembly Location: Franklin, PA Role The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO standards. This role ensures product quality throughout fabrication, welding, machining, and final assembly of OEM equipment. The Quality Manager leads continuous improvement initiatives, oversees inspections and audits, and ensures customer and regulatory requirements are met. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations and is located in our assembly plant in Franklin, Pennsylvania. Key Responsibilities Quality Management System (ISO) Develop, implement, and maintain ISO-compliant QMS (ISO 9001 and applicable industry standards) Lead internal and external ISO audits and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Maintain quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and records Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and contractual quality requirements Fabrication & Assembly Quality Establish and enforce quality standards for fabrication, welding, machining, and final assembly Review engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs for quality requirements Develop inspection plans, control plans, and quality checkpoints Oversee in-process and final inspections of OEM equipment Ensure proper handling of nonconforming materials and products Supplier & Incoming Quality Qualify and audit suppliers and subcontractors Implement incoming inspection processes for raw materials and components Manage supplier corrective actions and performance metrics Continuous Improvement Analyze quality data, KPIs, and customer feedback to drive improvement Lead root cause analysis using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA Support Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement initiatives Reduce scrap, rework, and warranty claims Leadership & Training Lead and mentor quality inspectors and technicians Train production staff on quality standards, inspection methods, and ISO requirements Promote a culture of quality and accountability across the organization Customer & Regulatory Interface Serve as the primary quality contact for customers Support customer audits, inspections, and FAT/SAT activities Address customer complaints and ensure timely resolution Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment Experience with OEM equipment fabrication and final assembly required Technical Skills Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 (certification or lead auditor preferred) Experience with fabrication processes (welding, machining, sheet metal) Familiarity with welding standards (AWS, ASME) is a plus Proficiency in inspection methods, GD&T, and measurement tools Experience with ERP/MRP and quality management software Soft Skills Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills Preferred Certifications ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Work Environment Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment Requires regular presence on the shop floor Occasional travel for supplier audits and customer visits Piovan Group offers an outstanding compensation and benefits package including profit sharing, bonus plans, 401(k) with company match, medical insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, health club reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance, and employee referral bonus program.
