Description

Position Scope: The Quality Manager will be involved in developing and implementing systems to ensure products or services are designed and produced to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations. Investigates and analyzes quality issues and processes to assist in creating solutions and corrections. Maintains an environment synonymous with high quality standards. Contributes to SEMCO quality focuses through training and enrichment with other manufacturing departments.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with focus in Quality Control, Engineering, or Business.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial manufacturing environments with a knowledge of specs and standards used in the industry.
  • Experience with product launches, change management, and a vision for continuous improvement solutions.
  • Experience on assessment of systems to identify deficiencies and participate in resolution of issues found.
  • Knowledge of implementation and certification of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • Extensive leadership experience with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and ERP system skills.
  • Previous experience in HVAC related fields is a plus.
  • CQE, CQM, or CQA preferred with experiences on large customer projects.
Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the inspection of products at various stages of production to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements to create effective quality control processes and maintaining such processes.
  • Develop and implement quality control tests to evaluate products and production equipment.
  • Prepare detailed reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data on production issues.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and assisting in developing procedures and practices to enhance quality of the product.
  • Owner of Quality Management Systems and driver for large customer projects.

MAJOR TASKS:

  • Investigate customer complaints and provide corrective actions and resolutions to prevent further incidents.
  • Execute PPAP, FMEA’s, and other quality control plans.
  • Provide frequent instruction and guidance for Manufacturing, Engineering, Sourcing, Customers, and Suppliers in performance measurements.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sourcing, Research & Development, Sales, and Service to ensure quality standards are integrated throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Manage and train quality and production personnel including the establishment and creation of SOPs and job instructions.
  • Perform root cause analysis using methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, or ISO for failures being a driver for change.
  • Create and regularly review quality standards and procedures.
  • Complete testing and analysis on products, materials, and processes to ensure quality standards are followed.
  • Document Control and review.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
