Description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Quality Manager to lead our quality systems and ensure products meet customer requirements, internal standards, and applicable industry regulations. This role is responsible for overseeing quality assurance, quality control, and continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving improvements that strengthen product quality, process reliability, and customer satisfaction. This position plays a critical leadership role in maintaining compliance with quality standards while supporting operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products. Oversee testing and verification activities to ensure materials and products meet engineering specifications and applicable standards. Analyze quality data, trends, and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive corrective actions. Lead root cause investigations for quality issues and non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Manage customer quality concerns and complaints, ensuring timely resolution and effective corrective actions. Collaborate with engineering, production, and operations teams to improve manufacturing processes and product quality. Supervise and mentor quality inspectors and other quality-related personnel. Develop and deliver training related to quality standards, procedures, and inspection methods. Maintain accurate quality documentation, inspection records, and audit reports in accordance with internal and external requirements. Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior leadership. Evaluate supplier quality performance and work with vendors to resolve material or component quality issues. Support quality system compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards. Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization. Experience & Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field — preferred 5+ years of experience in a quality management or senior quality leadership role within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment — required Certification in Quality Management (CQE, CQM, Six Sigma, or similar) — preferred Experience working with MRP/ERP systems and quality documentation systems — preferred Experience supporting defense or regulated industry documentation requirements (DLA, AM General, General Dynamics, etc.) — preferred Required Qualifications: Strong knowledge of quality systems including ISO 9001, PPAP, and PFMEA. Ability to analyze complex quality data and implement effective corrective actions. Experience leading root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong leadership and team development skills with experience managing quality personnel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across departments and leadership levels. Ability to develop quality plans and manage quality initiatives within established budgets. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards. Proficiency with common business software and quality documentation systems. Knowledge of workplace safety practices within a manufacturing environment. Strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to operational excellence. Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening and reference check. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code requirements. Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems. Experience supporting Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance. Experience working within defense, aerospace, or highly regulated manufacturing environments. Experience leading internal or external quality audits. Work Environment: This role is performed on-site and involves a combination of office and shop floor activities. The position requires regular interaction with production teams and inspection personnel. Exposure to noise, heat, and other typical manufacturing conditions may occur. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when working on the shop floor. Must be able to walk, stand, see, talk, hear, reach, and handle inspection documentation and materials as needed.
