KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven work experience as a Quality Administrator / Manager or similar role.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
  • ISO 9001 experience
  • Background using and applying lean or six sigma methodologies with Certification.
  • Experience with relevant software, such as MS Office, data analysis software and SPC.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Steel manufacturing or metal foundry experience strongly preferred
  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Business Administration or relevant field.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that products meet set standards of quality and reliability. They achieve this by establishing all technical specifications, standards and drawings, continuously improving our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system and providing industry leading claim management and technical service for our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, communicate, and ensure compliance with all metallurgical standards, manufacturing processes and documentation requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and continually improve quality control systems and measures using lean, six-sigma or similar tools.
  • Manage failure analysis, product disposition, customer claims and technical service.
  • Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Monitor quality system performance to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and manage staff members in the quality control department.
  • Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, and contractors.
  • Instruct staff and organization in quality control, problem solving, and analytical processes.
  • Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, and quality trends.
  • Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of issues in the field of quality control.
  • Identify and implement training for the production team to meet quality standards.
  • Identify production and technical problems to minimize cost and delay.
  • Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.
