POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product quality, including incoming materials, in-process inspections, and finished goods, ensuring they meet customer and regulatory requirements. The QA Manager leads the investigation and resolution of quality issues, communicates directly with customers and internal teams, and ensures continuous improvement of quality systems and processes. This position also oversees the QA and Analytical Lab teams and supports cross-functional collaboration to maintain high product quality standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical field, OR 5+ years of relevant QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Visual) for retrieving quality data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with production, customers, and cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
  • Skilled in the use of standard office equipment, including computers and laboratory tools.
Responsibilities
  • Quality Oversight and Line Inspection:
  • Manage QA technicians conducting in-process inspections of bar soap and related products.
  • Ensure consistent execution of quality checks on production lines.
  • Specifications Management:
  • Review and approve customer product specifications.
  • Create, maintain, and revise specifications for all products based on customer requirements.
  • Address specification-related concerns through Sales, NPD, or directly with customers.
  • Quality Systems and SOP Development:
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with QA and Quality Systems SOPs to meet GMP, customer, and internal standards.
  • Own all QA-related SOPs within the facility.
  • Material and Product Testing Oversight:
  • Supervise QA Technicians performing testing of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods.
  • Ensure timely release of materials and products based on testing outcomes.
  • Issue Investigation and Resolution:
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints, rejections, and internal quality issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine root cause and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Corrective Action Management:
  • Manage and resolve Corrective Action Requests (CARs) resulting from customer complaints or internal non-conformances.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Serve as a key point of contact for quality-related communication with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Keep the Director of Quality informed of all critical quality concerns.
  • Documentation and Portal Management:
  • Upload and maintain product batch packets and other required documentation on customer portals.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Hire, train, and manage the Analytical Lab and QA Technician staff.
  • Foster a culture of quality and accountability within the team.
  • Other Duties:
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Bradford management.
