As Crystal continues to grow, we’re looking for an additional pair of capable and enthusiastic hands to carry out Mortgage File reviews and join our Quality team. We need an individual with curiosity and the ability to roll up their sleeves.
The successful candidate will be responsible primarily for supporting Quality Assurance activities and with direct exposure to the Compliance team this is a great opportunity for an experienced File Reviewer, who is looking to grow their career and venture into the 2nd Line over time.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Previous experience in a compliance, auditing, or file checking role within the mortgage or financial services industry is essential.
  • CeMap or Equivalent Qualification (Required)

· Strong understanding of mortgage regulations and industry standards (e.g. FCA, MCOB, Consumer Duty/TCF).

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of mortgage systems and software is a plus.

· Other Qualification (ICA) (Advantageous).

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE:

Working as part of a team, as a Quality Monitoring Officer, you will play a key role in reviewing and verifying mortgage files to help reduce first line risk, improve the customer journey, and ensure compliance standards in line with regulation, industry codes and business requirements are met.
You will work closely with the Underwriting and Compliance teams to safeguard the company’s regulatory obligations and reduce the risk of non-compliance.
Driving the best experience possible and promoting good customer outcomes is key to the insight gained through this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough reviews of mortgage applications and files, ensuring that all necessary documentation and checks are in place.
  • Ensure that the mortgage advice provided and associated record keeping, complies with relevant regulations, internal policies, and industry standards.
  • Identify any potential compliance issues or areas of risk.
  • Provide clear and effective reports.
  • Work closely with internal departments to resolve any compliance issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage regulations and industry changes.
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance and training to staff on compliance and customer outcome related issues, when necessary.
