POSITION OVERVIEW:

Boeing Defence UK is looking for experienced aircraft Production Engineers with experience working in an aviation Production environment to join our dynamic Quality team. This requisition is for full time employees to support the E7 prototype activities at Birmingham Airport UK. The E-7 Quality Assurance Production Engineer will be part of the growing BDUK Quality team, working within the Fixed Wing area, reporting to the BDUK Fixed Wing Quality Manager and taking day to day direction from the on-site Quality Manager or Quality Lead, conducting Quality Inspections of product, QA-MRB input to Non Conformity Reports, Safety & Local investigations, Line Stock Checks and other tasks associated with activities on site. An individual contributor providing SME QA oversight and assurance of the on-site production activities against company procedures, contractual and regulatory compliance.
The E7 prototyping will be conducted under FAA/DCMA requirements and Boeing Production processes at the production site at Birmingham Airport. The successful individuals main place of work will be at STS Aviation Services, Birmingham Airport.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years in aviation production with experience in Root Cause Corrective Action and Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience compiling and reporting statistical data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of FAA/DCMA requirements and prototyping environments.
  • Familiarity with Boeing processes, data analytics, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in teams.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute quality assurance strategies and inspection plans to ensure hardware and software products meet design, customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough quality inspections of components, aircraft, and systems against engineering specifications, identifying and documenting non-conformities.
  • Participate in quality reviews of proposals, contracts, and program requirements to integrate early quality involvement in development.
  • Manage non-conforming items by segregating, controlling, and facilitating disposition through QA-MRB input and safety/local investigations.
  • Perform audits, surveillance, and monitoring activities per approved plans; identify discrepancies and drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Validate work instructions, tooling, certifications, and process standards to maintain compliance with program and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze unfavorable process data, customer complaints, and metrics; develop and implement corrective/preventive action plans.
  • Represent Quality in design reviews, providing objective evidence of product conformity and process capability.
  • Foster and sustain a Just Culture within Boeing Defence UK to promote transparency and continuous improvement.
