Description
The Quality Technician will support the analysis and solution of quality problems, processing/disposition of non-conforming material, preparation of inspection plans and instructions, training of inspectors under the direction of quality engineers or supervisors (if applicable). Lead/support/assist Quality/Warranty Supervisor and Engineer in continuous improvement of Quality process, including performing audits, validation calibration compliance and creating Quality documents in alignment with Quality Management System/EQS requirements. Ability to read documentation to make complete fact-based decisions & root cause analysis and to research job folders and identify components used in the assembly. Assist with Field Service Actions as needed. Assist with warranty claim processing. Support the analysis and solution of quality problems, disposition of non-conforming material, preparation of inspection plans and instructions, training of inspectors under the direction of quality engineers or supervisors (if applicable). Performs process / product audits in alignment with QMS / EQS requirements. Handling non-conforming material from the moment the material is suspected to be non-conforming to resolution, monitoring, and closure of actions, including activities described in the local procedure. Lead a multifunctional team, called Cross-Functional Subject-Matter-Experts (SME), to evaluate the non-conforming parts, and defines the disposition. Progress the NCMR to closure by ensuring the MRB authorities evaluate the material in an appropriate timeframe and by ensuring that necessary requirements have been met. Review, categorize, quantify, and analyze nonconformity reports to detect trends and identify the possible need for corrective and/or preventive actions. Create/review/maintain pFMEA's and control plans. Perform FTY/Rework and root cause analysis, plus create corrective/preventive actions as required. Act as an ISO Lead Auditor: Conduct quality audits of equipment and processes, coordinate audit schedules and manage & maintain internal audits & corrective action database. Assist on audits with internal or external customers (requirements criteria) to help insure quality and continuous improvement of products. Work with manufacturing area for improvements to lead 8D/error proof teams and defects analysis. IND123 High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution. Minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience OR a degree in a technical discipline. No relocation is provided for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX facility will be considered. Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Inspect and test electrical products and components to engineering drawings and specifications using inspection procedures and sampling plans as specified. Material Review Board (MRB) and Problem-Solving Procedure experience Proven ability to write technical documents such as procedures and specifications. IPC-620 Position Criteria: Inspect and Test incoming quality Components based on a Drawings specification. Proven ability to solve problems utilizing common problem-solving methodologies/tools such as PDCA, A3, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, pareto charts, etc. Understanding of lean concepts, principles & tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Set-up Reduction, Pull Systems and Standardized Work.
