Alive is seeking a dedicated Quality Specialist to help drive continuous improvement across our organization. SUMMARY The Quality Specialist at Alive will support the agency by monitoring compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards. This role will assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to drive continuous improvement in patient care, staff education, and operational processes. The Quality Specialist will collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote best practices, patient safety, and regulatory readiness. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the hospice Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. Collect, validate, and analyze quality data (clinical, operational, and patient experience). Track performance indicators and provide reports to leadership and committees. Assist with root cause analysis, audits, and corrective action plans related to quality or compliance concerns. Support survey readiness activities, including policy review, staff preparation, and mock surveys. Educate staff on quality initiatives, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information in compliance with HIPAA. Attend and contribute to meetings, staff trainings, and compliance initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned to support quality, compliance, and performance improvement. Other duties may also be assigned. Requirements EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current state license in good standing (required) Minimum 2 years of recent hospice experience Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) or Hospice and Palliative Care Licensed Nurse (CHPLN) certification preferred or willing to obtain within 1 year Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience Qualifications In-depth knowledge of hospice philosophy and end-of-life care. Extensive knowledge of hospice Conditions of Participation (CoPs), state regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., CHAP, ACHC, or Joint Commission). Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams), data reporting tools, and electronic medical records (EMR). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills Self-directed, organized, and able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision Ability and willingness to communicate and support the agency’s values and mission High level of work, personal and professional ethics CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS A current Tennessee RN or LPN Nursing License or license in a compact state. If required to drive to carry out the duties of this position: current driver's license and automobile insurance as required by Tennessee State Law.
