Description

THE COMPANY

Boortmalt is a global malting company with a 3 million tonnes production capacity. The group is present on 5 continents with 27 malting plants. We have been working for years to become the go-to partner for brewers, distillers and food industries, by supplying them with top-quality barley malt and supporting them thanks to the expertise of our Masters of Malt worldwide. Two key pillars of our strategy remain innovation and sustainability. Every day we want to do better than yesterday while preserving tomorrow.

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality support and oversight across multiple Boortmalt sites in the UK and Ireland -including Bury St Edmunds, Buckie, Glenesk, Knapton, and Athy - ensuring alignment with Group Quality Policy and site-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage quality sampling, inspection, and data collection protocols to ensure robust product and process monitoring.
  • Facilitate and support third-party and internal audits, ensuring audit readiness and timely follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints and internal non-conformances, performing structured root cause analysis and tracking corrective/preventive actions.
  • Generate, analyse, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as First Time Right (FTR), customer complaints, and lab compliance metrics.
  • Oversee the dispatch and traceability of customer samples to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement through trend analysis, support for quality risk assessments, and the identification of practical, data-driven solutions.
  • Actively contribute to Boortmalt Operational Excellence (BOPEX) initiatives across supported sites.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly quality reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and support the regular review, maintenance, and continuous improvement of site HACCP plans to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the due diligence program, including sample scheduling, dispatch tracking, results recording, database maintenance, and escalation of any non-compliant outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, commercial, and global quality teams to ensure consistency and alignment across operations.
