Job Title: Quality Specialist
Location: West Allis, WI
Type: Full-Time, 1st Shift
Pay: $60,000 to $65,000 annually
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Specialist to join our food manufacturing team. This role focuses on verifying preventive control documentation, supporting food safety and quality initiatives, and participating in employee onboarding and training.
Key Responsibilities
· Review operations and documentation for compliance with FSMA, SQF, and other food safety standards.
· Support investigations of customer complaints, internal quality holds, and safety incidents.
· Monitor production areas, coach employees on best practices, and report non-conforming conditions.
· Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications
· Perform hygiene and fabrication inspections, track corrective actions, and verify preventive controls.
· Generate quality reports and troubleshoot issues using ERP systems.
· Provide coverage for quality technicians and support other quality functions as needed.
Qualifications
· 1-2 years of progressive experience or new graduate with related Food Science bachelor’s degree.
· PCQI certification preferred.
· Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to read, write, and interpret technical documents and regulations.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a wet, hot manufacturing environment.
