Description

A LITTLE ABOUT US

Oats Overnight is changing the way people eat breakfast, and since launching in 2016, our high protein spoon-free oatmeal has been enjoyed by over 1,000,000 customers. We are scaling quickly in both direct-to-consumer and retail with the goal of becoming a household brand. We have end-to-end control of all phases of the business, producing and fulfilling the product in-house, which is extremely rare for companies our size. This allows us to create new flavors and products quickly and is a tremendous advantage for our brand – we’re able to give customers a behind-the-scenes look at what we do, highlighting our people and process in content. Being vertically integrated also enables us to incorporate customers directly in the development process.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who can seamlessly partner and influence at all levels of the organization, from the frontline to senior leadership, and who isn’t afraid to step into a fast-paced manufacturing environment to work shoulder-to-shoulder with plant teams to tackle challenges head-on. This individual should bring a relentless drive to get things done, with the curiosity and entrepreneurial mindset needed to navigate shifting priorities and embrace new ideas. Clear expectations will be set, but success in this role demands ambition, agility, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while communicating complex or nuanced messages with clarity and purpose. A strong team player at heart, this person thrives in collaborative environments and is quick to adapt, learn, and contribute to innovative, forward-thinking solutions.

WHAT’S THE JOB?

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to become a part of our rapidly growing team and to ensure our company remains compliant with industry regulations. You will report directly to the QA Manager with pre-requisite programs oversight as well as responsibility, oversight and performance of manual and automated tests on company products, calibrate test equipment, and ensure employees are following safety regulations. To ensure success as a QA Supervisor, you should have sound knowledge of automated testing procedures, a good eye for detail, and advanced problem-solving skills. Ultimately, a first-rate QA Supervisor should be able to accurately identify production irregularities, propose improvements, and maintain a safe working environment.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Quality Manager to oversee and continuously improve our Quality Management System, ensuring compliance through internal and third-party audits, process evaluations, Gemba walks, and adherence to customer standards. You’ll play an active role on the Food Safety Team, contributing to hazard analysis activities, while also leading critical compliance programs related to food safety, pest control, sensory evaluation, GFCO, Kosher, raw material, finished product, and environmental testing. You’ll be responsible for reviewing and approving manufacturing records, releasing finished products, and maintaining control over documentation, with opportunities to draft and revise quality-related procedures. This position includes training personnel on GMP, food safety, and quality systems; performing inspections and sanitation checks using rapid result testing; and sampling ingredients and products with proper techniques. You’ll supervise QA Technician tasks, manage schedules, and conduct organoleptic evaluations where needed. Success in this role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities. You must be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of a high school diploma or GED (with a college degree preferred), along with at least three years of experience in food manufacturing and prior leadership experience in quality—ideally as a lead or supervisor. HACCP and PCQI certifications are required, while Internal Auditor certification and GFSI knowledge are preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, especially in interfacing with internal teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and lab instrument software is also expected. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, solution-oriented culture, embraces continuous improvement, and takes pride in driving positive outcomes across cross-functional teams.
