Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Supervisor’s responsibility is to oversee the Quality Control Technicians as it pertains to monitoring the quality of product and processes within the scope of the facilities QM System. This is to conform compliance to customer and regulatory requirements/specifications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
At least 5 years quality experience in a manufacturing setting required.
At least 3 years in a leadership capacity required.
CQT, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Certification preferred but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to read and understand standardized work instructions, inspection sheets.
Working knowledge of IATF and AIAG as pertaining to APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and Control Plans.
Working knowledge of problem-solving skills and root cause analysis. 8D, Fishbone, 5Y, 5W1H.
Proficient in Microsoft office.
Thorough knowledge of Checking fixtures, hand gauges, such as calipers, micrometers, digital indicators, taper gages, step gages, scales, etc.
Able to read blueprints and basic understanding of GD&T.
Able to read and interpret CMM data reports.
Experience with SPC data collection and analyzation of data.
Excellent communication skills both internal and external, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities:

Directly supervise employees in the Quality Department.
Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
Responsible for Interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Initiate, mitigate, and address quality issues, spills, or concerns as they arise.
Assist Quality Engineers in root cause analysis as related to internal or customer concerns.
Participate in effect Continuous Improvement, 5S and lean manufacturing activities.
Understand, follow, and train to quality process and procedures as defined in the QMS.
Monitor, approve, and schedule subordinates time sheets, overtime, and time off as needed.
Assist Launch team and Launch Engineers in Safe Launch/ Quality Wall activities during new product launches.
Oversee the containment process and DMR quarantine cage inventories, including scheduling sorts and rework when necessary.
Development of effective staffing plans to meet quality needs. This includes daily personnel deployment in zone/ assets as well as training skills development plans (cross training plans).
Develop, coach, and assures effectiveness of each team member.
Participates in the creation and support of systems, documentation, and action to assure conformance to Quality Systems (IATF 16949) and Environmental Management System (ISO).
Create One Point lessons, rework instruction and Standard Work Instructions.
Review suspect parts to assist with root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
Review discrepancies between IPI / control plan and current work being done. Escalate to Quality Engineers for updates. Verify updates are completed.
Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized, Lockout/Tagout procedures are adhered to, PPE is worn correctly at all times, and reporting of any near-misses, injuries, or accidents occurs immediately.
Keep work area clean and orderly to prevent safety hazards.
Assure adherence to quality policies and procedures including acceptable work standards, customer specifications and IPI requirements, to also include participation in the creation and support of systems, documentation and actions to ensure continued conformance to Quality (IATF) and Environmental (ISO) management systems.
