Description Summary Under the general direction of the Director of Quality this position is responsible for the coordination on Designated Quality Representatives (DSQRs), Certification Clerks, Final Inspection, and Calibration Technicians. This position is responsible for identifying process improvement opportunities and continuous improvement activities to meet customer demand. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Directs DSQR and inspection priorities, and testing of finished assemblies, components, and materials to determine conformance to customer requirements. Supports certification clerks and calibrations technicians in a capacity that allows documentation to be processed timely and accurately as to remain in compliance will all internal and client specifications. Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization. Reviews quality problems with engineering personnel and directs action required to correct defects. Prepares periodic and special reports concerning quality activities and problems. Aids in organizational planning by participating in departmental conferences. Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes. Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality issues and requirements. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Consistently, regularly, and predictably at work and on time Other duties may be assigned as needed Supervisory Responsibilities Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the quality department. The Quality Supervisor directly supervises 15-20 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Requirements Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Aerospace Quality and/or Engineering is preferred.
Responsibilities
Coordinates quality representatives, inspection, and calibration technicians to ensure finished assemblies meet customer requirements. Responsible for identifying process improvements and managing a team of 15-20 non-supervisory employees.
