With head quarters based in Coteau-du-lac, Quebec (west of Montreal), Ronsco Inc. is an industry leading manufacturer and distributor of railcar and locomotive products, operates the largest independent wheelshop in Canada (Hamilton, Ontario), as well as providing railcar and locomotive repair services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance role, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in freight axle, wheelset, or wheelshop manufacturing is considered a strong asset but is not required.
  • Knowledge of AAR standards an asset
  • Experience with ISO 9001 systems is an asset
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, and control plans
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Responsibilities

ROLE DEFINITION:

We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Supervisor to lead the quality assurance team at our wheelshop facility. This role is responsible for overseeing all quality control and inspection processes to ensure compliance with AAR standards, customer specifications, and internal quality objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of quality systems, and a hands-on approach to driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and Supervise QA Team, managing daily activities of quality inspectors and technicians, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Monitor operations to ensure compliance with AAR regulations, internal procedures, and relevant quality standards.
  • Oversee inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished freight axles and wheelsets to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes for internal and customer-reported quality issues.
  • Prepare for and support internal, external, and customer audits, including documentation review and on-site support.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of inspections, non-conformances, quality reports, and quality KPIs.
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve process controls and reduce defects.
  • Train QA staff and production team members on quality policies, tools, and inspection techniques.
