Job Title: Quality Supervisor Location: Newark, CA Department: Quality Assurance Engineering Job Overview: The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading the quality assurance and control functions within an EMS environment, ensuring that electronic assemblies comply with IPC standards and customer specifications. This role supervises quality inspectors, enforces quality policies, drives Root Cause Analysis, and promotes continuous improvement initiatives. Reports to Sr Manager, QE and QA Newark, CA.  Key Responsibilities * Supervise daily activities of the quality inspection team across Incoming Inspection, SMT, through-hole, final assembly, and test processes. * Ensure compliance with applicable IPC standards (IPC-A-600, J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711-7721) and customer-specific requirements. * Train and certify inspectors and operators on IPC workmanship standards. * Lead internal audits, process audits, and product inspections to verify conformance. * Coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) and support timely disposition of non-conforming materials. * Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective/Preventive actions (CAPA) using tools like 5 Why, Fishbone, or 8D. * Monitor and analyze Quality metrics (First Pass Yield, DPMO, defect trends), reporting to management with actionable insights. * Interface with customers on Quality issues, Audits, and Product Returns (RMA). * Support the implementation of ISO 13485, ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 quality systems as applicable. * Lead or participate in lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, SPC). Required Qualifications: * Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, or related field. * 3+ years of quality experience in EMS or electronics manufacturing. * IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) or Trainer (CIT) required. * Experience with QMS systems, inspection tools, and statistical analysis. * Proficient in reading schematics, assembly drawings, BOMs. * Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills. * Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 standards is a plus. Preferred Skills: * Experience with AOI/X-Ray/ICT/FCT operation and Quality data extraction and reporting. * Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent training preferred. * Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and traceability.
