Description

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Support Officer to join our
domiciliary care team. This vital role involves supporting the delivery of high-quality care to
individuals in their own homes. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of
care are met, with a focus on medication management, audits, risk assessments, care plans,
and providing essential staff support. The role also includes spot checks, and the completion
of any actions identified through audits or assessments to enhance care services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Medication Management:
o Oversee the safe administration of medications in accordance with the
company’s policies and procedures.
o Ensure that staff are adequately trained and compliant with medication
administration standards.
o Conduct regular checks to verify medication is being administered correctly
and accurately.
o Monitor and manage the medication system daily
2. Audits & Action Plans:
o Perform regular audits of care documentation, processes, and practices to
ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
o Identify areas of improvement and work with staff to implement action plans
to resolve any identified issues.
o Maintain detailed records of audit findings and actions taken to improve
quality standards.
3. Care Plans & Risk Assessments:
o Develop, review, and update care plans to ensure they meet the specific
needs and preferences of service users.
o Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks to service
users and staff, and ensure mitigating actions are in place.
o Work with the care team to ensure that care plans are consistently followed
and evaluated.
4. Staff Support & Training:
o Provide ongoing support and guidance to care staff to ensure they are
providing care in line with the organisation’s standards.
o Assist with staff training and development, ensuring staff are fully competent
in all areas of their roles.
o Conduct regular spot checks and observe care delivery to ensure standards
are consistently met.
5. Spot Checks & Compliance Monitoring:
o Perform unannounced spot checks on care delivery to assess the quality and
effectiveness of care provided.
o Monitor staff performance and compliance with care standards and provide
feedback and support where necessary.
o Report any areas of concern immediately and work collaboratively to resolve
any issues.
6. Documentation & Reporting:
o Ensure all care-related documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant
with company and regulatory requirements.
o Report any issues or concerns to senior management and contribute to
action plans and continuous improvement efforts.
o Maintain confidentiality and always adhere to data protection regulations.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
 Experience in domiciliary care or healthcare settings is highly desirable.
 Understanding of care regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
 Strong attention to detail and ability to identify areas for improvement.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong
working relationships with staff and service users.
 Ability to conduct audits and risk assessments effectively.
 Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple
tasks simultaneously.
 A positive, proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
 NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is preferred but not
essential.
Additional Information:
A full driving license and access to a vehicle may be required for travel between service
users’ homes.
