REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong user of Microsoft Office 365 suite of products.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of lean principals and concepts.
  • Capable of concurrently working on low level tasks (ex. document creation) and high level (ex. process design).
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Able to communicate information and ideas in speaking or writing clearly so others will understand.
  • Able to determine cause(s) of operating errors and making decisions as to what corrective actions to take.
  • Using logic and reasoning, identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternate solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Able to work as part of a team and to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
  • Able to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Must be active in keeping technical knowledge up to date and involved in continuous learning.
  • Ability to use information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and/or…
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience as Process Engineer.
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in practical application of Lean and/or Six Sigma manufacturing strategies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required to occasionally lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use foot/feet to operate machine, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and reach above shoulders.
  • Will regularly talk and listen and move from place to place and will frequently use hands to finger, handle, or touch.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus and use computer and technical equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Direct flow of work with only guidance on top level output requirements.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure product quality and compliance with processes and regulations.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive innovation, efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Train and educate manufacturing personnel on new processes and equipment.
  • Conduct cost analysis and make recommendations for cost savings measures.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems in manufacturing.
  • Perform all job duties following 5S/LEAN Manufacturing requirements and according to all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Write procedures in a manner operators can follow; these procedures detail the specific instructions to produce a quality product.
  • Establish, implement and maintain the quality management system.
  • Perform process capability studies; recommend changes to improve quality
  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
