SUMMARY

The Quality Systems Engineer plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the organization’s Quality System to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and support operational excellence. This position is responsible for maintaining the Business Management System (BMS) policies and procedures, conducting audits, and overseeing the corrective action process. The Quality Systems Engineer also supports quality-related training initiatives, monitors quality metrics, and prepares data-driven reports for management reviews. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, a proven track record of problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to build a culture of quality and accountability.

SUMMARY OF EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in quality systems, quality engineering, or a related role within a regulated industry, preferably aerospace and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hands-on experience with AS9100D standards and audit processes is required. Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external audits (e.g., customer, regulatory, or certification bodies). Certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a strong plus.
Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person, which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficiency with quality management tools (e.g., 8D, root cause analysis, FMEA, control plans, SPC).
  • Metrics and KPI development and reporting.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, NADCAP, or FAA regulations.
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.
  • Familiar with Aerospace quality terms and concepts.
  • Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership or clients.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and basic algebra.
  • Communicate scorecard metrics and initiatives regularly to senior management.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office® programs ®, Office, and MRP systems. Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.
  • Ability to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.

    The expected WA salary range for this position is between $78,000.00 - $103,000.00USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law. Responsibilities
  • Develops, maintains, and improves processes to ensure the Business Management System (BMS) remains current and effective.
  • Plans and conducts internal audits of Greenpoint’s BMS to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manages and maintains the Internal and External Corrective Action system, collaborating with key stakeholders to drive effective root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Develops and maintains monitoring and measurement metrics to track and analyze quality performance across the organization.
  • Provides new and ongoing training to support adherence to the BMS, addresses audit findings, closes system gaps, and meets evolving business needs.
  • Supports the planning and execution of both internal and external audits, ensuring thorough documentation and timely follow-up on findings.
  • Prepares and presents quality data, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for departmental and corporate management review meetings.
  • Applies quality management tools and industry best practices to analyze processes and recommend improvements.
  • Identifies and leads initiatives for continual improvement, including evaluation, planning, and implementation of solutions that enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with AS9100D standards and quality system processes.
