Role: Quality System Specialist
Location: Numurkah

In this position reporting to the Quality Manager, you’ll support the management and enhancement of cost-effective quality systems. We subscribe to and maintain accreditation against SQF Practitioner and HACCP, and success in this position will lean heavily on a well-developed understanding of the requirements surrounding systems and legislation such as this and influencing internal stakeholders for quality compliance and audit outcomes.

Specifically, you will:

  • Assess operational risks associated with food safety and quality
  • Develop and improve quality systems and food standards ensuring they meet required standards
  • Interpret external quality standards and manage and implement cost-effective and compliant systems
  • Host all external third party and internal quality system audits.

From a professional development perspective, this role provides ample opportunity to take the lead in managing the approach to corrective action planning and implementation of recommended actions from our internal and external audit processes.

ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • Our ideal candidate holds a relevant tertiary qualification in food and/or applied sciences.
  • A qualification in HACCP and applied experience here would be valuable.
  • You’ll have solid experience in auditing gained in a quality role within an FMCG environment.
  • Sound stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving and prioritisation skills are required alongside of a self-starting approach to your work.
  • Exposure or more detailed involvement with lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment will stand you apart from others.
