Job Details Job Location: AMP - BRYAN , OH 43506 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Job Shift: 1st Shift Job Category: Manufacturing POSITION TITLE: Quality Technician 1 PAY GRADE: Hourly Non-Exempt BUSINESS UNIT: Quality Dept: 80-Quality Assurance REPORTS TO: Quality Engineer PURPOSE: An effective Quality Technician continually improves upon the processes that are identified in the essential functions, assuring products are manufactured, inspected, and tested to fulfill customer and internal specifications and expectations and that a culture of teamwork, accountability, enthusiasm, and continuous improvement is maintained 1.0 DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows all company safety guidelines, practices, and procedures. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment when required. Support the business unit as the primary quality contact on day-to-day issues involving inspection, testing, acceptability, and reporting. Provide quality training to business unit personnel, relating to standards, inspection, and test methods. Assure the trainers assigned to the B/U are up to date with their knowledge of quality plans, standards, and methods. Maintain the MRB (Management Review Board) in our ERP system for the area of responsibility. Monitor the CRM (Customer Return Module) in the ERP system for quality related customer issues, perform analysis and disposition of field defective and returned product. Initiate Quality Alerts for AMP responsible issues. Initiate CAPA’s as directed (Corrective Action Preventative Action) for any significant issues. Lead or participate in the problem solving and follow up with champions for closure and documentation and verification of corrective actions. Review and approve as appropriate, all E/C’s (Engineering Changes) and deviations for the Business Unit. Perform receiving inspection for incoming products as assigned. Follow up with suppliers on issues with products affecting the Business Unit. Perform internal ISO,UL, product, and process audits assigned and report on findings and actions taken. Represent quality in Business Unit and other meetings and report on quality projects and measures including, customer issues, scrap, MRB, quality alerts, audit results…etc. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports, as required. Perform final or in-process inspections as assigned. A commitment to supporting continuous improvement by documenting best practices, improving existing procedures, and ensuring that the documentation aligns with the latest industry standards. Assist in controlling cost. Responsible for maintaining regular and reliable attendance and punctuality per company policies and procedures. Proficient in computer software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and IQMS. Commitment to safety and quality standards. 3.0 EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Minimum Associate’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or Technical field, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred. High School diploma or GED Required Prior experience in quality with experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred. CQT certification is desired, education and work experience can be used in lieu of certification. 4.0 PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate will occasionally work near moving parts. The associate may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
