We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality and food safety standards. This position involves conducting product and process inspections, and implementing quality assurance/food safety processes to maintain and improve product. This person will assist with troubleshooting and provide direction to production and sanitation team with day to day operations. REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in quality management, quality assurance (QA/QC), or a related field in the food industry.
  • Post-secondary education; Bachelors degree in Food Science or related field would be an asset.
  • Strong MS Office skills; working knowledge of various software and industry specific programs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective reporting and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and priority setting skills to deliver quality work within required deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of industry standards related to BRC/HACCP is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Have reliable transportation

Working Conditions:

  • Shift: 3:30 PM to 12:00AM, Mon-Fri, hours may change according to operational needs
  • Saturdays as needed
  • Exposure to various temperatures (baking, cooler, freezer)

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of products and/or ingredients at various stages of production to ensure compliance with specifications and established FSQA standards.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement effective quality control measures.
  • Ensure products comply with company and regulatory standards and BRC, HACCP, etc
  • Verify operational documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Verify product labels and ensure contents are complete and accurate during production. Establish master labels as needed.
  • Conduct product and environmental sampling for routine testing, and shelf-life testing at varying temperatures and storage conditions. Prepare samples for lab analysis.
  • Conduct allergen-free, and vegan free testing during line change-overs and on finished products. Perform corrective action as needed.
  • Analyze data collected from inspections and tests to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Utilize tools such as calipers and other measuring devices to verify product dimensions and specifications.
  • Conduct plant walk-throughs to ensure proper GMPs and housekeeping practices are implemented. Enforce corrective actions as needed.
  • Actively involved in facility monthly inspections, internal audits and complaint follow ups.
  • Document inspection results, execute corrective actions and maintain accurate records of all activities conducted.
  • Manage customer complaints through investigation processes; implement corrective action and ensure proper documentation
  • Manage product holds and ensure proper tracking and disposition.
  • Conduct training sessions for plant personnel and coaching and mentoring of staff
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance protocols.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for non-conformance issues and support corrective actions.
  • Support the fabrication process by ensuring that materials meet required standards before production.
  • Identify possible areas for improvement in FSQA processes, report quality/food safety issues or discrepancies to the QA manager
  • Follow all company procedures and incident reporting as outlined in employment and health an safety policies
  • Any other duties as assigned by the management team on periodic basis
