Description General Position Overview The position supports the Quality team with day-to-day activities involving manufacturing and issues related to our customers and suppliers. The Quality Technician must: be able to work as part of a team without disruptions be able to interact with all types of people in a professional and respectful manner be able to follow work instructions to ensure quality products and processes be adapted to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment Essential Job Functions Demonstrates SoundOff Signal’s core values in daily interactions with internal and external customers Inspection: Inspect incoming components per drawings Communicate non-conforming issues Inspect products and components in production for supplier issues / chargebacks / warranty data Maintain inspection data §Review and process scrap Maintain inventory accuracy for QC locations Perform MFG audits as trained Assist with creating & maintaining documents Support Quality Team activities with product launch, pilots and process development. Actively participate in problem solving and Quality improvements throughout the organization Support manufacturing requirements, including assembly and test, when assigned Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism and tardiness Other duties as assigned Job Requirements Associate’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience in a related field with a minimum of 2 years administrative experience Manufacturing experience helpful Quality team experience helpful Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Problem-solving skills Basic understanding of blueprints/drawings and dimensions and measuring tools (calipers, meters, microscopes, etc.) Active Listening – giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand points being made, asking questions as appropriate Reading Comprehension – understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents Use of an ERP system beneficial Demonstrated ability to understand and follow SoundOff work instructions Working toward joining Internal Audit team (requires training) Able to work varied hours to accommodate company and team needs Physical Requirements Able to lift up to 35 lbs. Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift. Must be able to accurately handle and assemble small parts. Working Conditions Light manufacturing environment Fast-paced, team-oriented environment Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting Required to work shift hours (as determined to support the team) with occasional overtime
Responsibilities
The Quality Technician supports the quality team by inspecting incoming components and production products to ensure adherence to drawings and standards. They are responsible for maintaining inspection data, processing scrap, and participating in problem-solving and process development activities.
