Mann Machines is a CNC facility machining precision parts for the Aerospace industry.

We are looking for a:

  • Quality Technician with aerospace experience (preferred) and GD&T experience (preferred)

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Quality Technician to ensure procedures are maintained and followed as outlined in the Quality System Manual and Operating Procedures. Assist, coach and train internal customers on Quality and Continual Improvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicable technical college or quality technician courses.
  • Must have prior experience in metal manufacturing industry, including use of basic dimensional measuring tools / equipment.
  • Must possess good vision (corrected or uncorrected)
  • Good manual dexterity required in working with hand tools
  • Knowledge of special processes heat treat, NDT, finish plating, grinding and painting.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, manufacturing plan and technical documents.
  • Ability to read, implement and adhere to our customer’ supplier quality requirements
  • Ability to lift medium to heavy loads
  • Experience with use of profile projector, surface tester and hardness tester.
  • Experience working in an ISO / AS environment an asset.
  • Experience in reading drawings
  • 5 years’ experience and training in quality control activities.
Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform quality inspection procedures on precision machined parts, including dimensional measurements, acceptance test, visual, pass/fail inspections, cleanliness inspection, and fit & finish
  • Perform 1st off inspection, in-process inspection, outgoing inspection, receiving inspection and final inspection.
  • Communicate results of inspection with machine operators, CNC programmers, manufacturing engineers and managers.
  • Fill in applicable inspection method sheets, forms, check lists and manufacturing operation sheet.
  • Setting up the special inspection gauges for production. i.e. bore Gauge, Johnson gauge, spline gauge and other functional gauges.
  • Generate First Article Inspection Report in accordance with AS9102.
  • Generate non-conformance report (NCR), internal rejection report (IR) and concessions to submit customers.
  • Cross review the work done by other quality inspectors.
  • Perform duties as delegated by our customers i.e. DSQAR or SDI
  • Face the audit conducted by customer’s source inspectors and auditors.
  • Conduct internal audit per AS9100 and shop floor audit on regular basis.
  • As part of Mann team, work towards and assist others in meeting external customers’ requirements.
  • Respect and adhere to all aspects of company Health and Safety by-laws
  • Respect confidentiality and intellectual property as per company by-laws
  • Perform and prioritize multiple tasks and respond appropriately to constant change in priorities
  • Other quality related day to day as needed
