Description NASL is seeking a Quality Technician who plans, coordinates, and implements quality, LEAN and continuous improvement projects to support our Quality Program, Theory of Constraints, sustainable solutions and profitable growth. Drives the analysis of field product failures, customer complaints, and production floor failures. Leads root cause analysis and prioritizes quality corrective actions. Manages programs and projects related to the improvement of manufacturing and operations processes. Evaluates implements and/or revises processes to improve productivity and quality, reduce costs, and more efficiently serve internal and external customers. Primary Responsibilities · Conducts Quality Inspections according to quality standards including: ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Required), Final Inspections, Run Charts and In-Process Inspections · Troubleshoots quality problems and assists with implementing sustainable solutions · Develop and maintain an effective calibration system of measuring equipment and check gages. · Develop process and quality control procedures to ensure finished product meets customer’s quality specifications · Conduct and record sample Pull and Boil. · Research, and test new methods, technologies, equipment, or processes that will improve the overall effectiveness of the organization. · Supports production by assisting with complicated inspection, process capability studies and First piece production approval. · Develop training, and train, employees on quality related practices and best practice requirements company wide. · Work with Engineering, Purchasing, Production and Sales to apply Theory of Constraints and Lean Manufacturing to support profitable growth. · May perform other duties as assigned Requirements Education and training Associates’ degree in Quality or related discipline preferred Quality Control or Process Control supervisory experience in the Wood Products industry experience strongly preferred. Strong organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills. 3-7 Years working in related experience in the Quality and/or Continuous Improvement field Technical experience Functional knowledge of software applications (specifically MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook) Efficiently communicate both verbally and in written form Have comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, design, testing and implementation
