Description JOB DESCRIPTION – QUALITY TECHNICIAN Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Program and Operate Hexagon Metrology CMM running PCDMIS. · Receiving inspection/ in-coming audit, · in-process audit, final audit, dock audit, · Prepare PPAP package with control plan, flow charts, SPC study, gage R&R and help with FMEA. · Develop and perform receiving inspection/ incoming audit as per relevant plan. prepare PPAP submissions, perform SPC analysis. · Reporting any nonconforming parts to the production floor. · Work in conjunction with the Quality Manager to support operation of Certified Management systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF16949, FSSC Food Safety). · Perform capability study. Develop measuring programs and techniques. · Work with engineers, tool room, and sampling tech regarding initial sampling of new or existing part. · Perform inspection when appropriate. · Report promptly to managers with responsibility and authority for corrective action of products and processes, which do not conform to requirements. · Has authority to put on HOLD any non-conforming products by issuing DMR system or stop production if necessary to correct quality problems. · Back-up to inspector position on production floor, if needed. · Support document control and QMS. · Other duties as assigned by management. Education/Experience · Minimum High School graduate required. · Must have advanced blueprint reading and GD&T skills as well as the ability to read and understand work instructions. · Will be required to use hand on tools, including micrometers, calipers, height gauge, etc. as well as able to make programs for CMM, Keyence, and Micro-Vu. · Minimum of 3 years QC experience in injection molding environment. · Calibration experience is a plus. · Understanding of personal computers and knowledge of Microsoft Office and business systems. Requirements Language/Communication Skills Ability to clearly communicate with suppliers, customers and employees in order to ensure the timely completion of quotes and coordination of projects. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job description. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is commonly required to stand, walk or sit for long intervals. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to see things both near and far away, be able to identify color, and able to adjust focus. Will be required to spend extended periods of time in the production area, warehouse and tool room and with outside tool makers.
Responsibilities
The Quality Technician is responsible for programming and operating CMMs, conducting various audits, and preparing PPAP packages. They will also report nonconforming parts and support the Quality Manager in maintaining certified management systems.
