We are currently seeking a Quality Technician/Programmer. Critical to our success, the Quality Technician/Programmer tests and inspects manufactured products at various stages of the production process. Creates, updates, and troubleshoots all coordinate measuring machine programs. Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for creating, updating and troubleshooting all coordinate measuring machine programs. Includes writing data collection routines, maintaining statistical data, backups of measurement programs and archiving of statistical files. Performs first piece inspections by verifying setups at each manufacturing operation. Responsible for approval to proceed with production process. Documents results and provides feedback to production machinists and management. Performs in process inspections at specified stages in the production process. Collects and evaluates statistical data during production process. Provides feedback to production machinists and management. Provides assistance in developing process control methods and procedures to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. Performs final inspections of purchased and manufactured product. Follows quality control procedures and sampling plans. Enters final inspection data into quality control database for analysis. Continuously monitors inspection priority list. Segregates and evaluates nonconforming product. Prepares nonconforming material and test reports. Provides feedback to manufacturing and production control regarding disposition. Initiates internal and outside supplier corrective action requests. Processes returns of purchased product. Cleans, maintains, and calibrates precision measuring and test equipment. Maintains calibration recall system. Provides assistance developing and documenting calibration control methods and procedures. Provides assistance in the selection and/or design of measurement equipment, fixtures, and gauging. Requirements EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum of four (4) years of experience in metrology/quality control. Minimum of three (3) years of experience writing coordinate measuring machine programs. QUALIFICATIONS Proficient in the use of a variety of precision measuring equipment, including all standard hand/surface equipment and coordinate measuring machine. The ability to interpret engineering drawings and have a working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Working knowledge of statistical process control methods.
