McDanel Glass Solutions Quality Technician   Department: Hot Cut Job Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Type: Regular Reports To: Shift Supervisor Revision Level: 1 Revision Date: 05.07.2026   Position Summary The Inspector Packer is responsible for supporting end-product quality and the packaging process within the Hot Cut department. This role performs visual and dimensional in-process inspections, packs finished ware, and completes palletizing and finishing activities to ensure products meet quality and customer specifications. The Inspector Packer serves as direct support to the Shift Quality Technician(s) and Shift Supervisor to ensure part quality and procedural adherence. The role requires clear and consistent communication with Shift Quality Technician(s), Shift Supervisor, and Machine Operators. This position is integral to maintaining departmental quality, productivity, and operational success. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S) * Perform in-process inspections for both visual and dimensional acceptance. * Complete required in-process inspection documentation accurately. * Inspect machined parts and components using precision measuring tools. * Identify and communicate product non-conformities and machine-related problems or flaws. * Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data collection and documentation. * Pack ware in trays according to specifications. * Wrap trays. * Complete documentation and paperwork for quality standards. * Complete sample size inspections of ware, based on production. * Complete final inspection of ware, prior to shipment. * Maintain production pace, visually inspecting and packing approximately 3,000 pieces per day. * Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in accordance with housekeeping standards. * Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies. * Support other packers and assist with production counts as required or requested. * Perform other duties as assigned. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education * High School Diploma/GED * Experience accepted in lieu of education. Experience * Successful employment in positions requiring strong visual attention to detail during repetitive physical activity in a fast-paced environment. * Production or manufacturing experience preferred. Language Skills * Must be able to read/write/communicate in English. Competencies * Manual dexterity. * Strong visual ability to perform detailed product inspection. * Ability to maintain continuous attention to detail in a fast-paced, repetitive work environment. * Ability to manage time effectively and maintain required production counts. * Effective communication and teamwork skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a group setting. * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. * Exemplifies the Company’s Core Values. Physical Demands * Ability to stand for extended periods while performing assigned duties. * Ability to stand for the entire shift while performing assigned duties. * Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to approximately 15 pounds throughout the shift. * Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 25 pounds during the shift. * Continuous visual attention to detail. * Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
