Description

As a Quality Technician, you will be integral to maintaining high standards of quality within our manufacturing processes. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will conduct quality audits, inspections, and analyses to ensure compliance.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Basic computer skills required for data entry and PLEX use.
  • Experience with MRP systems (PLEX preferred) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Team-oriented and able to work well with others.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in quality or inspection in a manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • 2-year degree or equivalent technical college coursework.
  • Auditor certification preferred.
  • Willingness to attend external training or coursework.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct process audits and generate follow-up documentation.
  • Perform daily internal audits of Receiving, Fabrication, Packaging, Shipping, and Returned Goods processes.
  • Perform spot checks and incoming inspections to ensure product quality at key stages.
  • Record spot check and inspection results in the PLEX system.
  • Take immediate action on audit findings: stop production, contain suspect materials, and develop rework processes for approval.
  • Initiate and complete nonconforming material “hold” tag process in the Quality Management System.
  • Create visual standards and work instructions for new product launches and revisions.
  • Perform Bill of Material (BOM) verification reviews.
  • Document and improve quality criteria and work instructions.
  • Develop documentation for reporting, maintaining, and archiving quality data.
  • Enter data into Quality Assurance databases and PLEX.
  • Support investigations of manufacturing defects, identify root causes, and help implement preventive controls — both internal and supplier-related.
  • Assist in resolving supplier non-conformance issues through data collection and analysis.
  • Maintain sample retention inventory and related documentation.
  • Support the QMS through internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Assist with calibration programs for both the Production and Quality departments.
  • Review and evaluate supplier sample submissions.
  • Communicate quality findings and actions to management.
  • Prepare monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
  • Assist with sample prep and shipments to test labs or customers.
  • Support development of operator training, testing, and certification systems.
  • Manage Customer Returned Goods (RGA) and warranty follow-up.
  • Travel may be required for supplier or customer training.
  • Maintain working knowledge of ISO/IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
