Description The Quality Technician is responsible for acting in the internal quality control process, performing technical coordination of the inspector’s activities, non-conforming product evaluations, overseeing the correct use of the non-conformance records throughout the plant, training new inspectors and developing and maintaining the inspectors SOPs. Main Responsibilities · Oversee the inspection/tester activities, guiding and coaching the inspectors/testers on the correct use of their tools with the goal of always seeking a better product quality. · Enforce customer/supplier philosophy throughout the plant. · Support the repair and the inspection staff on the correct use of any quality records. · Audit the plant critical processes periodically, identifying weak points and suggesting possible solutions. · Establish a good network with all the supporting areas (Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Etc.) to help on any problem-solving process. · Collaborate with the Quality Engineers on data collection for higher complexity projects. · Participate in the analysis of customer returned products whenever necessary. · Participate on cross-functional teams to evaluate quality issues. Requirements • Associate’s Degree in a related discipline required. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree. • Familiarity with assembly tools and equipment required. • Experience in and knowledge of electric motors strongly desired. • Familiarity with production planning software and ERP systems desired; Prior SAP Experience preferred. • Experience with modeling and tooling software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks helpful. • Strong working knowledge of office tools including; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint essential. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities required. • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills required. • Must be eager to learn new technologies and techniques. • Must be able to frequently sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
