Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Thoroughly check materials, procedures, and products to ensure the quality and reliability of our products. Responsible for conducting various tests and inspections, identifying defects, and working with the production team to implement improvements. Help us maintain high standards and deliver top-notch products to our customers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree or 3-5 years’ experience in testing and troubleshooting in the quality and/or engineering field within the automotive industry required.
Familiarity with tire and wheel testing equipment and QC testing equipment preferred
Knowledge of quality standards and regulations preferred
IATF Audit experience preferred
Mechanical Aptitude required
Quality testing / Technical knowledge required
Proficient with Microsoft Office required
Experience with CMM with PCDMIS software, & Minitab preferred
Must be certified or obtain Internal Auditor Certification in both IATF 16949 and ISO 140001
Capable of managing technical tasks with minimal supervision required
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills required

Responsibilities

Prepare, package, and ship customer samples and prototype orders.
Receive, identify, catalog, and store Customer and Wheel Supplier wheels. Maintain inventory based on OEM customer requirements.
Perform wheel balance weight application and retention tests, including documentation of raw data and test results.
Provide test data to Quality and Engineering, including troubleshooting and validation of processes.
Perform research and development (R&D) testing on WEGMANN manufactured and purchased products.
Process sample and special orders for OEM & Aftermarket customers.
Hand spraying of powder coating samples and prototype parts for outside lab testing.
Complete WEGMANN and customer testing and document test results for powder coating, taping, battery bushings, and future products as required.
Measures wheel flanges on CMM for customer samples and validation to customer drawings.
Mold and prepare battery bushing cross sections for microstructural analysis.
Maintain a balance weight sample library and test products as required for testing and comparison.
Ability to read and understand quality documents and engineering drawings to measure, test and compare products to the specifications.
Conducting thorough inspections and tests on products to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Collaborating with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Documenting test results, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records of quality inspections.
Performing routine maintenance and calibration of testing equipment.
Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and testing processes.
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Perform other duties as requested or required by the Quality manager.
