QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in aluminum and façade projects.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of aluminum systems and façade installation processes.
  • Proficient in cost estimating software (e.g., Candy, CostX, etc.) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, JCT).
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certifications: MRICS or other relevant professional certifications are preferred.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for aluminum and façade works, including material, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client expectations.
  • Tendering and Contracts:
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documentation for aluminum and façade projects.
  • Evaluate and negotiate tenders from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Review and negotiate contract terms with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Project Cost Management:
  • Monitor and control project costs, identifying any cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts to the management team.
  • Certify subcontractor and supplier payments in accordance with contracts and agreements.
  • Risk and Value Management:
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and propose solutions to mitigate financial risks.
  • Implement value engineering techniques to ensure optimal project outcomes while maintaining quality.
  • Measurement and Valuations:
  • Prepare bills of quantities, take-offs, and interim valuations for aluminum and façade elements.
  • Conduct site measurements and assess variations during the project lifecycle.
  • Change Order and Variation Management:
  • Assess and evaluate any project changes or variations, preparing documentation and cost impacts.
  • Ensure change orders are documented and approved before execution.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, contracts, and industry standards.
  • Provide regular project financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with project managers, design teams, and procurement teams to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
