Having worked in partnership with a variety of clients across an array of industries for over a decade, we have specialist experience across Speculative housing, Social housing, Health and Social care, Education, Law and Order, Retail, Infrastructure, Water and Energy. With a strong focus on collaboration, Applebridge’s approach is to engage early, offering pre-construction assistance, design advice, risk assessment, programme rationalisation and value engineering.
As part of our continued expansion, we are looking for Quantity Surveyors experienced in Civil Engineering Groundworks and/or Water Framework projects to join the team. You will be involved from project inception through to the preparation and agreement of final accounts ensuring all commercial and contractual aspects of projects are effectively managed and controlled.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Commercially astute with a genuine passion for delivering results.
  • Experience in Groundworks and/or Water Frameworks (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge and experience of working under a wide variety of contracts, including NEC 4, is preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with and influence a wide range of people is essential.
  • You should also possess the vision to see and work towards the bigger picture including helping to support and develop our less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Negotiating and dealing with contract documentation
  • Providing assistance, support and guidance on commercial issues and developing a culture of contractual awareness
  • Administering secondary subcontractors from enquiry stage through to order placement and subsequent agreement of final accounts
  • Preparing and agreeing interim valuations/applications for payment and final account submissions
  • Production of variation/Compensation Event quotation and notifications, submission and subsequent negotiation of agreed value.
  • Proactively managing cost control, together with preparing periodic project profit/loss and cash flow forecasts
  • Monitoring of site progress including undertaking regular site visits.
